Garwood mayor invites community to South Avenue redevelopment talk | Feedback

I’d like to invite the residents of Garwood to a town hall style meeting for an open discussion about the redevelopment of South Avenue (also known as the Casale/Petro site) on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at Lincoln School, 400 Second Ave., in the all-purpose room.

Professionals from the company that owns the property, South Ave. Urban Renewal, LLC, affiliated with Russo Development, will be there to provide an overview and answer questions about the proposed project.

Before taking questions from the public, they will make a short presentation explaining what has occurred to get the project to its current stage, and what to expect moving forward with timelines and so forth.

Also, the plan for the construction phase and what to expect will be outlined. Panels will be on display to show the redevelopment design and concepts at this meeting.

It is important to note that the approval process for the project is still not yet complete. South Ave. Urban Renewal LLC still needs to go through the site plan review process before the Garwood Planning Board, which is anticipated to begin in October. Those meetings are also open to the public.
